A Brunel University research project is being carried out titled, ‘Physically Disabled Women’s Perceptions Of The Challenges They Face Living In A Community’.
Women who have a physical disability and use wheelchairs are invited to participate in this study.
The venue of the interview will be at ‘The Forum @ Greenwich’. The interview will take about 45 minutes.
•The aim of the study is to explore the lived experience of physically disabled women, who are wheelchair users, living in the community with regard to the different aspects of their lives in an urban community.
• The Brunel University Research Ethics Committee has reviewed and approved this study.
•Participants who are physically disabled women, aged 35 - 65 years, with congenital or acquired disabilities and use wheelchairs (some/all of the time).
•You will be interviewed and audio-recorded by me, the researcher. If you would be willing to participate in the research project, please contact me by email to arrange an interview or to ask me any further questions about the study. My email address is hp08slk@brunel.ac.uk. My name is Sarah.
If you choose to participate in the research project, I will ask you to read and sign a Consent Form, before the interview starts. You are welcome to bring a friend or relative with you and they could wait in an adjacent room or in the Centre café during the interview.
•No identifying information will be included in any subsequent reports or published papers. Pseudonyms will be given to participants.
This study will provide feedback to service providers in the locality and may enable more insight into the needs of women with disabilities in the community.
Your help with this study will be appreciated and it can enable a greater understanding of physically disabled women’s needs by the wider community.
